Dyer Crop Insurance
Crop insurance service and answers from an agent with a farmer’s perspective
Row Crop Plans
-
Revenue Protection
Most popular plan in our area. Accounts for more than 90% of the coverage that is elected today. RP protects against yield loss and/or revenue loss.
-
Yield Protection
YP makes up less than 5% of row crops insured, as most producers choose Revenue Protection (RP). However, this is a good option for keeping premium cost down. Protects yield, but not price declines.
-
CAT
Better than nothing! And, if you’ve been farming for less than 5 years you can possibly get this coverage for FREE! But, if you can spend a little extra, Revenue Protection is likely better coverage.
-
Area Based Plans
This is County level protection. Individual yields are not material. Much more affordable than RP, but claim payments are based on how the entire county did
-
Crop-Hail
Not subsidized. This policy is purchased on a value per acre. Rates are given for $100/acre of insurance.
Other Plans Offered
-
Livestock Risk Protection
Puts a floor in cattle prices. So, if prices bottom out between the time that calf is born (or even before it’s born!) to the time you are ready to sell it, you are guaranteed a minimum price, no matter what the markets do.
-
Pasture, Rangeland, Forage
PRF is a rainfall index plan of insurance that covers below normal average rainfall. This plan is available for grazing and/or haying.
-
Whole Farm Revenue Protection
This plan of insurance is great for diverse farming operations or if you grow multiple crops & want all under one policy. Coverage is based on the lower of your expected revenue or the adjusted 5-year historical average.
-
Nursery
Nursery Value Select allows you to select the dollar amount of coverage that best fits your risk management needs. Coverage is available for container and/or field grown plants.
-
Special Events
Rain insurance for outdoor special events such as weddings, rodeos, concerts, church bazaars and more!
